Friedrich Fröbel: The Founder of Fröbel Pedagogy

Friedrich Wilhelm August Fröbel was born in Oberweißbach, Thuringia, in 1782 and was a German educator who is considered the "father of the kindergarten". Fröbel was fascinated by nature and the forms it produces. This fascination is also reflected in his educational ideas. He was convinced that nature can serve as a teacher for child development.

Froebel developed his educational philosophy on the basis of Johann Heinrich Pestalozzi's ideas and the romantic philosophy of nature, from which thePestalozzi pedagogy emerged. He attended the Pestalozzi Institute in Yverdon, Switzerland, and worked with Pestalozzi there. Later he founded his own educational institution, the Allgemeine Deutsche Erziehungsanstalt, in Keilhau, Thuringia, and in 1837 he opened the first kindergarten in Bad Blankenburg.

The Fröbel pedagogy is based on the following principles:
